Axel Blake won Britain’s Got Talent 2022.

The comedian took home the highest prize this evening ITV talent show finale, defeating likes of Tom Ball and Jamie Leahey to the crown and bagging himself a chance to do his act at the Royal Variety Performance.

Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Simon Cowell sat on the judging panel tonight, but they had no word on who this year’s winner was crowned because it was down to the public at home.

Axel remained speechless after his victory, utterly stunned by his triumph, and fans took to social media to congratulate him on his victory, praising the comedian for being so worthy.

“Axel Blake has won BGT !! I am so happy. I will always cheer and support those I have seen mastering their art from an early age, speaking 09-2012 onwards. Subordinates always come out on top,” one wrote.

Another added: “Absolutely great Axel … can’t wait to see you on the biggest stages !!”

However, as his victory was announced on the ITV show, some viewers went to social media to click on “repair” because the comedian has done his own standing shows and has an Amazon Prime show.

One fan even confessed that they would not vote for Axel if they knew about his “professional” past.

“I voted for Axel too. If I knew he had his own show, I’d vote for jamie (I was torn between the two) I’m really angry now. That’s really unfair. Jamie should have delivered it,” they shared on Twitter.

Jamie Leahey placed second with his incredible belly talk routine featuring his friend Chuck. The couple had all the hysteria tonight with their hilarious routine, but he was overcome by emotion when he came second.

During Axel’s comedy sketch tonight, he joked about his newly found fame and thanked his partner for being so helpful. He also joked about his noisy neighbors, including one who claimed he “stole” their lucky Platinum Jubilee pants.

In the sketch, Axel claimed he had no idea where they were going, blaming the foxes – but the neighbor told him the foxes could not be held responsible because he knew all the animals that lived around.

Just at the end of the act, he pulled out a pair of union boxers and threw them into the audience as the judges and the entire audience burst out laughing when the culprit was revealed.

Tonight’s show was hosted by Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, who opened the show with an exciting routine where they welcomed all 11 finalists including Joker Amber and the Dancing Necklaces.

Explaining the judges’ decision on the joker, Simon said: “It wasn’t, it was the easiest decision. It was better in their audition than the semi-final, and if we see them go back to how it was in the audition, then they could win this whole thing. “
