Keysight Enables DEKRA to Validate Mobile E112 Caller Location Under New Regulations – EEJournal

SANTA ROSA, California June 6, 2022 – Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS), a leading technology company that delivers advanced design and validation solutions to help accelerate innovation to connect and secure the world, has announced a partnership with DEKRAa leading global test house network, to ensure that hardware and hardware vendors can validate E112 call center (universal European emergency number) functionality in accordance with new European Union (EU) regulation.

The collaboration utilizes location-based services (LBS) and global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) technologies to monitor E112 regulatory test cases used to validate mobile phones sold in the European market. The new regulation supports emergency services across the European Union by reducing response times for rescue services to save more lives.

Keysight’s online emulation solutions enable DEKRA to validate E112-related tests regulated by a guidance document issued by the EU to assist notified bodies in assessing E112 compliance. The new EU regulation (Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/320) came into force on 17 March 2022. It requires that all new mobile phones sold in the EU must support GNSS technology based on the Galileo constellation, a high-end mobile location ( AML). ) protocol and Wifi communication technology. As a result, emergency call centers can accurately indicate the caller’s location.
