If we learned anything from the Johnny Depp testis that the #MeToo movement was deceived by some people.
In 2017, there was a huge and very important movement called the #MeToo movement.
It was important for many reasons, but the main one was that it provided a platform for women to call men who were abusing, sexually harassing and attacking them.
Unfortunately, domestic abuse and sexual harassment and assault happen every day and the #MeToo movement didn’t stop it, but it did help shed light on it.
I doubt it will ever stop because there are men out there who will continue to commit these horrific acts against women.
I myself do not understand why.
There must be something chemically wrong in the heads of some men that causes them to commit such horrific acts against women and that may never be exterminated.
That being said, such behavior is not just about women.
The allegations made against Kevin Spacey demonstrated that men can abuse other men, and there have also been cases of women mistreating other women.
The dark side of the #MeToo movement

However, there was a dark side to the #MeToo movement.
The movement allowed people to use it for their own personal gain.
I know Johnny Depp’s trial has not yet come to an end, but there are many people who believe that. Amber Heard was one of those people.
The #MeToo movement often forgets that women are human too, and all men can be selfish, selfish, greedy and predatory, no matter their gender.
These are not just characteristic traits that are common in men. They are common in all people.
All this to say that all people (including men) can be victims of domestic abuse and sexual harassment as well.
However, what this whole preamble really is is a long enough way to get to the subject in question, and that is that there have been a few men who have fallen victim to the #MeToo movement in a slightly more complex way.
There was a time when women publicly accused men of sexual harassment and domestic abuse on the left, right and center.
In many ways, this was a good thing and it was time for something like this to happen and put those men in their place and for the truth to come out.
However, it also meant that allegations against certain men were made and things went too far and some were even false.
Charges were made that cost people their jobs, and their livelihoods and ended up tearing families apart.
Some of the crimes did not match the punishment

In some cases, the offenses simply did not match the punishment, and I believe that Andy Signore, the man behind the popular YouTube channel, Screen Junkies, was a victim of this.
I don’t think it helped that the accusations placed at his feet coincided with the revelations of Harvey Weinstein’s horrific acts of sexual assault and harassment.
Anyway, in 2017, it was revealed that Andy Signore is going to leave Screen Junkies with immediate effect.
That was when it was revealed that allegations of sexual harassment had been made against the creator and founder of Screen Junkies.
I remember being shocked and devastated at the time.
I was a fan of Screen Junkies and used to enjoy listening to shows like Movie Fights.
Andy was the host of that show and it was always my dream to go on that show and talk about my favorite movies in the Movie Fights ring.

Andy left the channel, and I’ll be honest, since then, things have gone down pretty fast for Screen Junkies.
It was supported for a while and there was still some good movie commentary there from time to time.
However, after being purchased by Fandom, the channel has just become the site for Honest Trailers videos and there are no more movie comments or anything like that here at the moment.
It’s an empty shell of what it was before and that’s a shame.
Andy has since made several videos detailing his side of the story, and I’ve included a few of them in this article.
I do suggest you go and watch them, because it’s interesting to hear his aspect of the story, which we never really did at the time.
Andy was actually silenced, as were some people during the #MeToo movement.
Johnny Depp’s libel lawsuit does an interesting case study as well.
When Amber Heard made her accusations against Johnny, he was also effectively silenced by the mainstream media.
One of the reasons he chose to sue Ms. Heard for $ 50 million was for people to hear his side of the story.
Anyway, back to Andy.
In his most recent video of what happened between him and Screen Junkies, Andy confessed that he made mistakes.
“Back in 2017, I was canceled,” Andy begins.
He continues: “I was dismissed on charges that were false. It was a really dark time in my life.”
He then goes on to admit that he cheated on his wife at the time, and if anything his wife, children and parents were the main victims of Andy’s act and also of him being annulled.
Canceling a culture is dangerous, and I don’t think people really realize the devastating effects it can have on the people around the suspended person.

We are all too quick to judge.
There are always two sides to every story.
We heard people on the side of Screen Junkies, but we never really heard Andy’s side at the time.
There were a number of allegations of sexual harassment against Andy in 2017.
However, the main accusation against Andy only really came from one person (who will remain unnamed).
This was then followed by a number of women who made allegations against Andy who revealed that he was scary and sent them inappropriate messages.
Of course, this is not acceptable, and Andy in his videos acknowledged this and confessed that he had made mistakes and also expressed remorse for what he had done.
However, what is clear is that Andy did not commit sexual assault or domestic abuse.
He was wrong in his actions, and you can feel free to think what you want about Andy’s actions.
However, firing him and publicly embarrassing him as Screen Junkies did was not the way to deal with the situation and I believe, in retrospect, was disgusting.
Maybe it’s time for Screen Junkies to make a formal apology to Andy Signore for the way they treated him.
But also, maybe it’s just time for everyone to move on from this and learn from it.
Andy is doing very well with his new channel, Popcorned Planet.
I think we can all learn an important lesson from what happened to people like Andy.
We shouldn’t be so quick to judge people.
We shouldn’t be so quick to accuse people.
And above all, we should try to take a step back and listen, think and learn.
