The Boys S03 “Leaked” Video Footage Proof Soldier Boy Not Role Model

|

We knew there was no way that Amazon and Showrunner & EP Eric KripkeThe Boys will let Vought International’s slap go unanswered. If you need a refresh … Vought used Memorial Day as a pretext to publish a 1984 public service announcement by Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) encouraging children to stay away from medications as a way to “honor” their original soup (and also boost their market sales). Well, it wasn’t long before Frenchie (Tomer Capon) laid his hands on the things that remained on the editing room … the things that paint a very real picture of Soldier Boy that Vought would never want to see the light of day. by day. Well, that day is today …

So to watch Soldier Boy live diva “do as I say, not as I do” lifestyle, check out the leaked footage of that (un) famous PSA message:

Now here’s a look back at the only version Vought believed would ever see the light of day (clearly, they forgot who they were dealing with):

In The Boys: Devil “One Plus One Equals Two” (written by Simon Racioppa and directed by Jae Kim & Giancarlo Volpe). Focus on Homelander (Anthony Starr), the animated chapter sheds light on the early days of The Seven leader while explaining much about the connection he shares with Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell). With The Boys Ready to return for a third season that sees Homelander’s sanity worsen, the streamer has released the episode for free so that viewers are better informed before the end of this week:

Now look back at the official Season 3 trailer for The Amazon Boys, which arrived on June 3 (followed by our observations):

After reviewing it now about 367 times, here’s a failure of what the trailer had to offer and what that means for next season. And be sure to let us know in the comments section how great we are …

Well, it looks like we’re looking at Cameron Coleman’s (Matthew Edison) a new show like Homelander’s (Anthony Starr) public relations tour to fix his image rolls on. But how quickly we see (and how Erin Moriarty‘s Starlight so concisely puts it), “There’s something wrong with Homelander. There’s something broken. He’s lost his fucking mind.” Considering where things stood at the end of last season and how he had to be on a rope, it’s not that surprising. Although if we needed a reminder, we get that disturbing cow-milking scene and Homelander gently caresses a bloodstain on him lying next to it. And then we get a montage of Homelander’s growing madness as a sequel to …

Isto Butcher (Carlos Urbano), who wakes up from a feverish dream to the sound of a teapot. We get the summary from Grace (Laila Robins) about how Butcher was on the straight and narrow: not killing soups (though we see him hurt Sean Patrick Flanery‘s Powder pretty bad), not drinking, and “even followed Hugh Campbell’ s [Jack Quid] “While Grace sees this as a sign that Butcher may not be such a villain.” At least for now …

Now, here we start getting some quick scenes from other plots, including Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso) finally getting the family life he had wanted for so long. But how will he deal with the fact that his job is to “discipline” the same soups that his daughter idolizes?

From here, we see Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell) sharpening his tools and Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott) witnessing an uncomfortably rough exchange between Homelander and A-Train (Jessie T. Pedelo). But it’s the exchange between Vought boss Stan Edgar (Giancarlo Esposito) and Starlight which was fascinating because it gave us the feeling that Edgar is already looking to the future … and Starlight as the new leader of The Seven? I always thought Vought had some sort of genetic “kill switch” that it could turn on Homelander if it needed to …

Ashley (Colby Minifie) wake up! And if you’ve been wondering if her life is going to be less stressful this season, then look no further than the moment Homelander decided to drop someone from the sky until their bloody death before making his next public appearance. And he’s happy too! Yes, Ashley’s face speaks for us all.

Ho-ho! Something happens and the “gloves are removed” because Hughie sees something that makes him realize that the government’s way is not working and they will have to go “old school” for some soups (and we learned from Karen Fukuhara during her reaction to the trailer for Vanta Fair that the one guy was killed by a supes-themed dildo).

Aj. That was a nasty brilliance exchange between Claudia Doumit‘s (literal) mind blowing congresswoman Victoria “Vic” Neuman and Starlight. But then we learn that there may be another way to “blow out Homelander’s evil brain” that won’t require Neuman’s special “talent” … Jensen Ackles‘Soldier Boy (who clearly has some anger issues of his own).

From there, we see Butcher shoot some Compound V to give him the boost he needs to deal with Homelander. We also see a thawed (and now escaped) Soldier Boy lost, confused & during the race before he (apparently) does any major damage to a building due to his power ups.

Again, Mother’s Milk must be the voice of reason reminding Butcher that taking Compound V goes against everything they fought for. But after a scene showing him looking more than comfortable with his new powers, Butcher argues that he needs it to level the playing field.

From there, we get some quick gunshots and violence (with bonus points for Laurie Holden‘s Crimson Countess putting her powers on a terrible screen) before Homelander again references showing his “real” self to the world (as he did earlier) before offering his own public vote: “I mean, they fucking love me.” From there, we get more reductions in action and violence, and let’s just say we’re not big fans of the position that Tomer Capon‘s Serge aka Frenchie finds himself in (although the dance number with Fukuhara’s Chemistry looks great). And Mother Milk breaking the bat on Butcher without him even moving? Aj.

And then we cut the credits … but wait! We have a final scene where Butcher and the crew watch an unfrozen Soldier Boy stagger out of their cryogenic room. And he seems to have a whole ton of locked-in power that he needs to burn down quickly (now we’re rethinking that destroyed building earlier). As for Soldier Boy being a “weapon” to take down Homelander? We can’t help but feel that this plan won’t work and that SB & Homelander will have much more in common than they realize.
